Hey I'm Mehar Khanna, a hands-on learner with a passion for leadership, entrepreneurship, and computer technology. I thrive on practical experiences, whether it's building circuits or leading a team on the cricket field. Inspired by industry giants, I'm determined to make my mark in the business world, utilizing my skills in software development and programming. Helping others and achieving academic success drive me forward, and I'm excited to pursue opportunities in entrepreneurship and computer science where my interests and abilities align perfectly.

The survey result proved my idea in the importance of being flexible in how we approach learning and resembled how I envisioned my results. It showed that I use a mix of learning styles, with a preference for hands-on learning. I am able to validate this because especially in computer tech, I engaged in practical projects that have helped me understand theoretical concepts better. For someone like me, who thrives on hands-on experiences, this experience demonstrated the importance of practical application in strengthening my understanding. Knowing my inclination toward kinesthetic learning allows me to tailor my learning approach to maximize effectiveness, engaging me with the material in the way that resonates most with me. Thus, I chose this as the most significant survey.

My dream goal is to become a successful business owner and work for myself. It's not just about financial success; it's about realizing a vision, creating something meaningful, and leaving a lasting impact. As mentioned in my Dream Map, I've sketched several pictures of graphs, indicating my interest in the supply and demand chain. Despite my strong inclination towards Computer Science, my long-term aspiration has always been to carve out something of my own within the tech industry. Creating my own products and services is incredibly important to me because it signifies my passion for innovation and problem-solving. I want to identify market needs and have the freedom to develop solutions that address those needs in a unique and impactful way. This allows me to express my creativity and turn my ideas into reality. Feeling like I own the company and taking on a leadership role is crucial for me. It's about having the autonomy to make decisions that shape the direction of the business and the responsibility to guide and inspire others. As a leader, I have the opportunity to foster a positive work culture, mentor others, and drive the success of the company forward.

A key aspect I believe will impact me the most in my career and overall life is my religion, Sikhism. In the job industry, people might treat me differently because of how I look as a Sikh. This can lead to unfair treatment and biased decisions at work. Even though there are efforts to include everyone, sometimes they still have wrong ideas about Sikhs based on their appearance, like their turban and uncut hair. This can show up in things like not getting hired or promoted fairly, or being given different tasks because of how I look. Sometimes, people might say things that hurt because they don't understand my religion. Overall, even though there are steps to stop this kind of unfair treatment at work, biases can still affect how Sikhs like me are treated. Companies need to work on this and make sure everyone feels respected and valued for who they are.

One-month goal: Manufacture an entire Electric Vehicle from scratch to participate in the University of Waterloo EV Challenge, and perhaps winning a couple awards.
Specific: Our goal is to design, manufacture, and test an Electric Vehicle (EV) prototype that meets the safety regulations and performance criteria outlined by the University of Waterloo Electric Vehicle Challenge. The EV will be designed to utilize the specified battery model provided by the competition guidelines.
Measurable: We completed the base construction of the EV prototype already. The EV will undergo rigorous testing to ensure it meets predefined performance benchmarks, including acceleration, speed, and endurance. Each day we’ll note down progress and tally what needs to be done.
Achievements: Our team comprises experienced student engineers, faculty advisors, and dedicated students who possess the necessary skills and expertise to undertake the design and fabrication of the EV prototype. We have access to the required resources, including fabrication facilities, tools, and materials, to successfully execute each stage of the project.
Relevant: Building the EV prototype aligns with our school’s mission to foster innovation, hands-on learning, and technological advancement among our students. Participating in the University of Waterloo Electric Vehicle Challenge provides an opportunity for our students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world engineering projects, enhancing their practical skills and career readiness.
Timely: The project timeline will be divided into specific milestones and deadlines to track progress and ensure timely completion. Regular progress assessments and checkpoints will be conducted to monitor the project’s advancement and address any challenges or delays promptly.
